I went to vote in South Philly today. About six people were standing right outside the door handing out literature. This Democratic Ballot was handed to me.

Food fight
"Food Fight is an abridged history of American-centric war, from World War II to present day, told through the foods of the countries in conflict. Watch as traditional comestibles slug it out for world domination in this chronologically re-enacted smorgasbord of aggression."
This short film by Stefan Nadelman utilizes a historical-culinary model to portray almost an entire century of conflict. Note the addition, towards the end, of the chicken sandwich to the American arsenal.
Food fight.
Fetch-o-matic
This video shows a dachshund playing fetch with... a machine! This automated tennis ball slingshot is a little loud, looks to be homemade and is even perhaps a little dangerous for dimmer dogs - but Jerry the dachshund seems to have mastered it. Aside, that is, from the occasional nip at the launching mechanism (1:19).
Watch it on YouTube - Jerry needs no help playing with his ball

Lawn furniture reinvented.
I never understand when outdoor furniture molds, breaks, or ages in such a way that two years after buying it needs to be replaced. Well, there appears to be a solution for this, a permanent one.
It can be found at Pointless But Cool, although I have not found where it can actually be purchased yet.

Bookcases I have noticed along the way.
I tend to have a fascination with books and everything related to them. I still haven't decided if I will expand this post as I find more worthy bookcases, or if I will just start a new one. Enough blabbering, enjoy!

Glass stairs popularity contest

This site has a large collection of glass / transparent stairs - and is the first time I've ever seen people vote for stairs. Currently the cantilevered stair is in the lead with a large margin but anything could happen I suppose !
